Information about the data controller

This privacy notice is for Connection Rocket Inc., the company which operates the Mentorship RocketTM website (the "Service"). We collect and are responsible for the Personal Information/Data you submit within our Service during your participation in mentoring programs facilitated by Mentorship Rocket.

We are located at 3390 South Service Road, Suite 305, Burlington, Ontario, Canada L7N3J5.

Receipt, processing, and transfer of personal data

If you are located outside Canada and choose to submit information within a mentorship program, please note that we receive the information, including Personal Information, in Canada and process it there.

The computer server which hosts the Service and which stores mentorship participants’ data is located at a secure Data Centre in Montreal, Canada. For additional security and recovery purposes, daily automated backups occur with all data transferred and stored offsite to a Data Centre located in Vancouver, Canada.

The mentorship software is designed to automatically email your Personal Contact Information to a small number of other program participants with whom mentoring connections are made. This only occurs at the time that mentees book mentoring sessions with selected mentors and is for the awareness and convenience of both parties in a mentoring match. Consequently, mentors’ and mentees’ information may be transferred to — and remain on — computers or devices owned by those other participants located outside of your province, state, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

Your consent which you grant with accepting the Terms and Conditions while registering in a mentorship program, followed by your submission of Personal Information, represents your agreement to the processing and transfer of information described here.

Whose data is collected

No information is collected from random visitors to client organizations’ websites created within the Service. Personal information is collected only from individuals who are affiliated with client organizations and who are permitted by the organizations to create user accounts within mentorship programs. The types of user accounts (also called roles) are: mentors, or mentees, or administrators for programs.

  3. You have the right to withdraw consent for use of your personal information. Please note that up to that point, we’re acting lawfully with your consent. Withdrawal of consent cannot be backdated.

Please also note, rights 2 and 3 here, if exercised by you, necessitate removal of your accounts in all mentoring programs in which you have a role. This is because consent plus processing and transferring of personal information are essential for active participation in mentorship.
